I attached a program called Guns for Cameras that someone started to help you get your mind going.
This is a great idea--too bad the organization seems to be defunct. (The link is dead.)
I don't know where I would be without the arts. A camera kept me out of trouble when I was a kid--I hate to imagine an entire generation that hasn't experienced non-violent, artistic self-expression.
I think the arts should be a key consideration in this issue...what other factors do you see?

Gun violence is, has, and will continue to be a very real problem. We must be realistic...cameras and "the arts" can't protect "sheep" from the "wolves." Wisconsin needs to pass a common sense concealed carry law allowing citizens the right to carry a firearm. A populace with a means to defend itself is far more in control of its own destiny. Guns are a powerful tool that even the odds against those who wish to do us harm. I don't want the bad guys to be the only ones who have them.
I think we should start with... talking to the fellows that have the guns. Seems simple, but I bet if these "thugs" with the guns were given something else "better" to do... They might do that instead. Last summer I decided to do a little Taichi at the park close to my house (Teifenthaler Park.) To my AMAZEMENT a group... pack of about 30 kids were wondering through the park posturing all thug like. The group turns to my little party of 4 and I can here one of them in the back "We should whoop they ass" as they approach. They got up closed, asked what we were doing, I showed them, they liked it and... Well, I bet there could be a lot more kids into Taichi (or a lot of things) that get into guns instead because there's nothing else "better" to do...
