Thursday Novmber 8th Radio Milwaukee had the opportunity to gather with various local business and community leaders at Maxie’s Southern Comfort for an after-work/happy hour meet and greet. Mary, the animated bartender, kept the drinks flowing and Dan, the gracious owner of Maxie’s, provided the delicious food. It was immediately evident that Milwaukee has very personable and compassionate leaders at its helm. There was an ease with which people circulated the room and introduced themselves to each other. Organizations became individuals. I was thrilled to witness the connections and watched a room of strangers unwind together after a long day’s work. Radio Milwaukee’s leadership team made brief introductions, shared their stories, gave insight into the Radio Milwaukee project, and engaged in a thoughtful question and answer session initiated by the community guests. I appreciate knowing that the community-driven project I am a part of is in turn a part of something bigger in my hometown. That there are creative and constructive Milwaukeeans willing to step up and help direct us for the greater good of the city. I feel privileged to have met some of our best and brightest leaders and look forward to furthering our relationships. And it’s exciting to think of all the others out there we have yet to meet…
